Hello! I’m originally from Richmond, Virginia and made my way through the Gateway to the West pursuing my love of the Arts, and mentoring folks young in their creative explorations. I’ve found a great home at Southeast Missouri State University with my wonderful, fun, open-hearted students and colleagues here on River Campus. In my own studio practice, I explore the emotional connections to and through phases of life using non-representational form and marks with intentionally emotive color palettes. I find my personal work to be a deeply powerful ongoing, lifelong conversation with myself, and my teaching/mentoring work fills my cup to overflowing every day. Oh, and I have a really great guy who thinks I’m pretty awesome, a totally chubby and sensitive dog named Rosebud, a black bowling ball masquerading as a cat named Jack, and a slick, slinky diva cat who is secretly a mountain lion named Rini.
