Andrea Thompson has been with Southeast Online since January 2014. She currently serves as an Online Program Specialist. She advises for several degrees: Bachelor of Arts Social Science, Bachelor of Arts Psychology, Bachelor of Science Criminal Justice, Bachelor of General Studies, Bachelor of Science Child & Family Studies: Child Development Option, Bachelor of Science Child & Family Studies: Family Studies Option and the Associate of Arts in Childcare and Guidance. Andrea earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Missouri- Columbia and her Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Administration from Southeast Missouri State University. She is currently completing her Doctorate in Educational Practice and Leadership.

Andrea is a strong advocate for distance education and adult learners. As a single mother, she completed her graduate degree through evening and online courses while working at Southeast Online full-time and is completing her Doctorate fully online. Andrea loves that she can be part of her students’ support system as they complete their degrees here at Southeast Missouri State University.
