Don’t feel pressured to pick a major before you’re ready. By starting as an exploratory student, you’ll have access to the tools you need to help you find the right path. If you haven’t decided on a major yet or you have and you’re having second thoughts, you’re in good company. About Our Services
-
One-on-one Advisor
As an exploratory student, you’ll be assigned to an academic advisor who can help keep you on track academically as you navigate your academic major decision. Your advisor will help you build a schedule based around your interests and the general education courses you need, so the courses you take count toward your degree. -
Career Resources
Schedule a career strategy session with a certified career counselor. They can help you make sense of your passions and priorities, so you’re better able to decide which career is right for you. At Southeast, all of our career counselors have, at minimum, a master’s degree in counseling or a related field. -
Program Finder
With a variety of different majors and minors to choose from, our Program Finder can help you determine the right path for you by working with an advisor. -
Career Counseling

Interdisciplinary Studies
Choosing Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) means creating an individualized cross-disciplinary major that can be tailored to your individual career and educational goals. The IDS major was designed for students who wish to create their own academic programs by choosing courses in more than one academic area.
